Web Site Construction

The Web site construction is built in three levels for a reason. You will see how the variation of each keyword are being used in the different levels.

Your web site should be built in 3-tiers...Each Keyword should "fit" into an evolving "3-TIERed" site blueprint of your content....something like this.....

Tier 1" (Research Stage) being your first page is your page of introduction. This is the page the searcher will land on when they are gathering information about products and the websites that sell them. They are doing a general search. Example, general keyword "Clothes." With high-value information and great "content" you will navigate your visitor to "tier 2"

(side bar) Never try to sell your visitor on your index page. Give the visitor what they are looking for....high-value information. This will build credibility and trust.

Tier 2 (Compare Stage) this is where the searcher will land when they are searching for "availability, compare prices, compare shipping charges." So your keyword/phrases on tier 2 are going to be different then the other tiers. Example, "over stock, bargain prices, No shipping fee". Again, with high-value information and content you will navigate your visitor to "tier 3" or give them a reason to return. You want your visitor to feel you are an expert in your field.

Tier 3 (Buying Stage) this is where the searcher will land when they are ready to buy. They already know what they want, how much they want to pay and the brand name. So the keyword the searcher may use "Cheap designer evening gowns." Most specific keywords are used in this level.

To ensure the potential customer can find your Web site at every stage level it is important to select specific keywords for all three tiers.

To help you find specific keywords the Thesaurus Reference will give some ideas.

Clothing" (noun); Definition: attire
Synonyms: accouterment, apparel, array, caparison, civvies, clothes, costume, covering, drag, drapery, dress, duds, ensemble, equipment, feathers, finery, frippery, frock, full feather, garb, garments, gear, get-up, glad rags, habiliment, habit, hand-me-downs, livery, mufti, outfit, overclothes, panoply, rags, raiment, regalia, rigging, sack, sportswear, tailleur, tatters, things, threads, tog, toggery, tout ensemble, trappings, trousseau, underclothes, vestment, vesture, vines, wardrobe, wear

Now there are a lot of words there you won't use but there are also a lot you may.

Good keyword research can be a time-consuming process, but the rewards that you reap will be more targeted traffic, better sales, and better search engine positioning.
