Offline Pitch....Viral Marketing

When you meet someone new and they ask what do you do for a living or what type of business are you in (and this is a question that is asked often) do you have an answer or an offline pitch ready. Or are you unprepared and stumble and stammer and leave them confused about your business. Or is your answer so short that they cannot form a picture.
You have only one shot at a social networking offline pitch and sharing the highlights of your business to peaking the listeners’ interest. A great offline pitch makes a good first impression that can lead to future business. Even though that person you are talking to may not make a purchase from you, leaving them with a good impression of your business will encourage them to share your information with others because you did have a great pitch that was short, informative and held their interest.
A good social networking business pitch has to be summarized in one or two short paragraphs describing the business concept.
My offline pitch is, when asked, “What line of business are you in”:
“I teach an Internet Online Business class at the Tampa Bay Computer Society, where I provide all the needed information to start and maintain an online business on any imaginable topic, with no product, with no financial investment and with little or no technical skills no matter how new you are to the Internet.” More and more people are entering the world of online marketing and for good reason, because there is money to be made.
Prior to my association with the Club, I used a similar pitch on Dave Dockery the President of the Tampa Bay Computer Society and he very politely smiled and said under his breath “Yeh Right” ( not fully buying the “no financial investment” part) but it still peaked his interest enough to ask more question and to check it out further and the rest is history.
Keeping your pitch simple and giving a picture of the business will usually lead to more questions about your online business, which is exactly what you want. Now you have the opportunity to talk about your business to those who have an interest.
Let's say, for another example, If you ran a health and wellness business like Jacinthe of http://www.MonaVia.com You wouldn't want to use the statement, "I run a health and wellness business," as a reply about what it is that you do. You want to add in a short description and catch the listener's attention. For instance, you might say,
I operate my own online business. We offer a product that is a natural supplement (acai berry fruit drink) call Mona Via, that has been scientifically proven to have remarkable health and healing benefits such as diminishing depression, strengthening of the heart, memory and vision improvement and a great increase in energy level just to mention a few. Mona Via has made a significant difference in helping others lead healthier and pain free lives with in just two week of drinking acai berry complex.
You never want to be caught off guard when someone asks about you and your business. Always have that (offline landing page) business card close to your reach. After you have presented your pitch, offer a business card and ask them to please take a look at your Web Site. Remember the more business cards out there floating around the more traffic and business you are going to receive.
Make sure you have a free download form on your web site on a free “How To” book or a free report on the benefits of your product) so your new visitor will opt in and become a future customer if they do not take any action on the first visit. This way you have a second chance in the future to give them further information on your product.
The next time someone ask about your business, share your pitch with him or her. Refine you pitch to be short but as descriptive as possible. In time your words will become a well-crafted summary that will hold the interest of everyone.
Word of mouth is viral marketing and one of the easiest and best ways to build your online business and with a great pitch it will get others talking.
(Note) Your business card is your offline-landing page that will lead to many visitors to your online business. So everywhere you go present your pitch and pass those business card out.
